This position will provide technical support, case management to include communication with investigating personnel, submitting agencies, and/or prosecutorial representatives regarding requests. The Digital Forensic Examiner will be considered the Technical Leader of the Digital Forensic Section and will be asked to assist in the preparation of the sections’ policies and procedures.The Examiner will be responsible for various administrative duties in maintaining records of cases worked, calibration and/or renewal agreements of specialized equipment software.The Examiner will be required to report the findings and provide testimony of examinations as an expert witness during criminal trials.The Digital Forensic Examiner will remain current on laboratory accreditation standards, processing techniques, and any changes in legislation to insure compliance with discipline standards and state and federal laws.The examination of digital evidence to include, but not limited to: cell phones, computers, tablets, skimmers, GPS devices, DVRs, and/or surveillance equipment.This type of examination also includes the physical and digital extraction of data related to a criminal offense and would require proper security/legal discretion and dissemination regarding sensitive material. Primary Job Duties The Digital Forensic Examiner will work closely with investigators on varied investigations requiring the forensic examinations of digital evidence.
